My Journey So Far

I’m Florian, and I love solving problems. I studied computer science because understanding how systems work and then building on top of them just clicks for me. I’m the kind of person who can get stuck on a good riddle or learning how to solve a Rubik’s cube for half a day without noticing the time go by.

When I jumped into the business world, I realized those same analytical skills were incredibly useful for building systems that solve real problems for actual people. That’s been my North Star ever since.

Here are the main stops along the way:

• 2014 - 2017 Discovering Code: Bachelor’s in Computer Science at Université Libre de Bruxelles, where I first discovered that code could actually solve real-world problems.

• 2017 - 2019 AI & Engineering Foundations: Master’s in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence at KU Leuven. Loved diving deep into machine learning and building sudoku solvers!

• 2019 - 2022 A Brave New World: Founded Istarii with two friends from university. We started doing custom development like mobile apps, web apps … before finding our groove as an Odoo partner.

• 2022 - 2024 Scaling a Company: We merged with another Odoo Partner called Squareflow. As a managing partner, I helped scale the company to around 30 people. We also achieved Odoo Gold Partner status. Scaling the company was probably the most challenging time of my life (yet)!

• 2025 - New Adventures: Started freelancing, taking on missions that need technical leadership. I also did a detour at Deloitte Belgium in their Technology Strategy & Transformation team. Great people & very valuable experience but I realized pretty quickly that I’m happiest when I’m in the core of the creation process and not only on the strategical level.

What I Bring

Most technical people come from either pure engineering or pure business. Thanks to my diverse background, I’ve spent real time in both worlds.

I’ve led a lot of projects for very small companies up to the public sector and I’ve learned how critical it is for both sides to work together.

Hopefully, I can help you:

• See the whole picture: Technical choices have business consequences. Business goals need technical reality checks.
• Build and lead: Hands-on when needed, but also comfortable guiding a team through complex challenges

My obsession? Solving tricky problems—whether that’s untangling a messy codebase, designing a system that scales, or figuring out why a project is stuck.
